Dennis Price
Dr Dennis Price (49) is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, consultant, and academic. His varied career included spells in academia, fashion retailing, computer programming, and marketing beer in the informal sector, research and benchmarking and property development.
He is a Director and CEO of Ganador Management Solutions and an adjunct lecturer for a leading Australian University's MBA program.
Dennis has held a variety of senior roles:
- National Marketing & Communications Manager at Lend Lease Retail and most recently as Marketing Director in a Lend Lease/GPT JV Development company.
- The first Executive Director of the South African Council of Shopping Centres, and Chief Executive Officer of SAPIX (South African Property Information Exchange) which provides a property portfolio analysis service to leading property investors.
- Strategic Services Manager for SAPOA (South African Property Owners Association - responsible for marketing, technology and training. He spearheaded the development of a Vacancy Management System, which was possibly a world-first Extranet for the commercial property industry in 1996, long before the term was even coined.
- Associate Director of the School of Logistics at the Witwatersrand Technikon.
- Principal of Quiver Enterprises, a consultancy specialising in retail strategy and training for five years.
He has written numerous study guides, articles and newsletters on marketing, retailing, shopping centre management and business. He is also a popular speaker and trainer.
Dr Price studied literature and religion at University of Pretoria, switched to commerce and did an MBL at Unisa, and earned a doctorate in consumer behaviour at Rand Afrikaans University.
